Skibadee

The artist Skibadee is a widley known in the ‘Drum and Bass’ music scene, which grew
from ‘Jungle’ music in the early-mid 1990’s. This piece was designed for use
on T-shirts for sale to fan’s of the artist.

The initial design was thought to be slightly complex for the target user
to understand. The forbidden lexicon is an language which must be studied to be understood and
one which cannot easily be deciphered by those with little or no knowledge of it.

The second design was simplified so as to be more readable.

The final product was produced using various colourways including a plain black and white version.

Bozo clothing logo

Graffiti has words and terminologies of it’s own, ‘Bombing’ refers to the putting up of tags, throwups and in general actively being out to get your name up. The initial concept was a bomb which was ready to explode, full of energy…positive energy unlike real bombs.

The logo was deemed slightly unreadable so it was simplified. The swirl above the name on the bomb was removed and some lines were sharpened up.

The colour of the patch was toned down for a more subtle sophisticated look, especially when worn on black garments. The logo was to be sewn onto the garment like a patch, heavy-weight ridge bordered patches for jumpers and hoodies and thinner versions for T-shirts. Both versions were to be the same size with a 5mm border for attachment.

The colour ways for the logo are infinate…colours, colours, colours!

This is a dedication to Terry ‘Turbo’ who passed over to the other side in 2005.

Those who shine in life also shine in the dark created by their absence…missed by all.

The Legendary Fume and Bosh dub’s between Royal Oak and Westbourn Park are now long gone…it is hard to appreciate the scale of them, the wall is at least 15-20 ft in height.

Graffiti history on the london underground is long and colourful…countless pieces of artwork and adventures have emerged from the dark depths of Gloucester Road train sidings.

The Joker

This popular character has inspired and influenced many artists. Magician Damien O’Brien was looking for a show-stopping design that was based around the Joker, but with a sinister twist.

The final design was completed in a matter of hours to a tight deadline for an awards after party where Damien was performing. Usually a design will be shaped up over a few days at least but in this case the design almost completed itself, leaving Damien very pleased with the finished product.

The final design was enhanced with small diamonique decorations added by Avit clothing. Detail of the playing card was used on the front of the garment.

Sketch for the Lovebox festival in 2006. The images were copied and pasted to create the rough draft on paper.

The full size painting was 7ft x 15ft. I always find the differences interesting which appear in the creation of a large scale work from a small sketch. Characters are always hard to complete at the right size, here the coppa has been shortened so as not to make everything else to small.

Cam Yam & Friends

A Bozo & Zomby production

This was a commissioned piece for a living room. Cam Yam is stealing the limelight as usual with his friends Zoot Dog and Mack The Night holding it down, watching his back. 7ft x 10ft

Zomby was also required to complete the commission and as usual never dissapaints!

A home is not a home without a woman’s touch…in this case Zombina.

Draculahh…he seems to be sizing up Zombina.

Gleasons Gym

Bozo DDS

The world famous Gleasons Gym in London Bridge is part of a franchise started in the United States. The brief was open ended, to create a graffiti style mural. It was felt that what was best for this brief was a co-orporate style piece which used the Gleasons logo and simply put it into a larger format with bright eyecatching colours.

Background was made black to highlight the logo and to give a smart clean look with the grey painted brickwork on the arches.

The scroll with the red Boxing Gym text was aimed at creating an old established feel to the frontage of the gym and also advertising the type of gym it was. A year on the gym has now benefited from increased membership partly due to the increased visability of the frontage.
